I clicked through waiting to hear more of this argument. Kinda surprised that this is it but....Kinda' love it too! You don't have to say more. I'd just add that to me, you're not just echoing Christian or MLK platitudes of "Love your enemy", the idea is really, love people who disagree with you. Love people who are wrong. Love people who don't understand why you would love them.

I've always said that racism is just people being misinformed. I don't hate misinformed people. I just want them to be informed. And they won't be informed if you fight hate with hate. And if their minds can be changed, and most can, then they're not your enemy.

I'm already mucking it up. Too many words! Ha!

We really need families to have the economic space to have a parent dedicated to teaching these things. School is systemically unsuited to this.
