I conjure spells all day long
Summon mistresses and vixen teachers
to show me the ways of alchemy.
Allah is in the fragrant details
He’s in the alcohol too.
The Earth is spicy in that way
The way she molds all the deities and sky gods to do her bidding
And weave her flags
And fight battles in her name.
I fight battles in her name
Her fingers form the tendrils of my spleen
My hair is her favorite fishing net.
My tongue, her fantasy.
